He pointed out the importance of focusing not only on AI itself but also on those who use it maliciously, mentioning that "there has never been a weapon as powerful as the combination of malicious individuals using the latest AI tools." As AI technology advances, warnings about its deadly risks are increasing even in Silicon Valley. Jacob Cox from Anthropic claimed that the race towards superintelligent AI is akin to gambling with lives. Gates stressed the need for government and law enforcement involvement to address AI risks, stating, "Self-regulation alone is not enough." He added that discussions about safeguards and oversight should involve law enforcement and politicians.
