Bitcoin Mines 482nd Rare Satoshi
On October 16, AntPool mined Bitcoin block number 971712, in which the first newly created unit is a "rare" satoshi, appearing on average once every two weeks. This is only the 482nd such specimen in the history of the network. In this block, 3.125 BTC was issued, of which only the first satoshi meets the "rare" criterion. On the day of mining, the mining difficulty increased by 5.92%, reaching approximately 140.58 trillion. Bitcoin begins a new difficulty period every 2016 blocks, and the number 482 results from dividing the block number by 2016. Throughout the Bitcoin issuance schedule, 3432 "rare" satoshis are planned. Rarity does not determine price; each specimen corresponds to one satoshi, and its value depends on collector interest. The next difficulty period will start at height 973728, and its first new satoshi will also be of the "rare" class.
