Core Lightning Urges Node Operators to Upgrade to the Latest Version
The Core Lightning team, which develops Bitcoin's Lightning Network node software, has reminded node operators running version 26.06.7 or earlier to upgrade to the latest version as soon as possible. The team reported that they have received reports of attackers targeting unpatched nodes but did not disclose the vulnerabilities exploited by the attackers or the potential impacts. On September 16, Core Lightning stated that it was investigating issues that could affect experimental features and user funds, and on September 22, it released version 26.06.8 to fix vulnerabilities and update the software. This announcement did not clarify whether the previously reported attacks were related to the vulnerabilities fixed in this version.
