Dragonfly Managing Partner Claims On-Chain Pre-IPO Derivatives Show AI Lab Valuations Unaffected
Dragonfly Managing Partner Haseeb Qureshi stated that the price changes of on-chain Pre-IPO derivatives reflect the market's expectations for AI lab valuations. Jacob Coxon's pessimistic remarks about AI risks have driven up the valuations of related labs, and Haseeb believes that "scaring everyone seems to be beneficial for business." Haseeb pointed out that after Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei suggested "slowing down the frontier race," the related valuations were not significantly affected. A reduction in model competition means lower training expenses, thereby decreasing major capital expenditures. Despite David Sacks publicly criticizing Dario, Anthropic's valuation has remained largely unaffected, while OpenAI's valuation has seen a decline, which Haseeb questioned.
