The founder of ElizaOS, Sho Walters, has declared the death of the token and officially announced the dissolution of the foundation. On the 6th, Walters stated on X, "The ElizaOS Foundation is ceasing operations," adding, "There will be no buyback to revive the token, and do not expect me to do anything further." The direct cause of the dissolution was a settlement of a class-action lawsuit filed by Berwick Law, which used all the foundation's treasury and cash to pay the settlement. Walters revealed that he once had $25 million worth of ai16z in his personal wallet, but it is now worth close to zero. However, he stated that the development of 'ElizaOS,' an open-source AI agent framework, will continue. ai16z was set to emerge as a 'venture fund that invests autonomously using AI' by the end of 2024, reaching a market capitalization of approximately $2.6 billion, but it collapsed due to questions about AI's actual investment decision-making abilities and legal disputes. Digital asset media has evaluated this situation as an indication that the combination of digital assets and AI has emerged too early.
