Former CFTC Commissioner Summer Mersinger Steps Down as CEO of Blockchain Association
Prefer us on GoogleFormer U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Commissioner Summer Mersinger will step down as CEO of the Blockchain Association on October 16 and leave the organization. The organization announced that Mersinger joined the Blockchain Association in June 2025, after leaving three years before the end of her term at the CFTC. Mersinger stated that she aims to provide clear rules and unified representation for the industry. The Blockchain Association noted Mersinger's contributions in advancing the GENIUS Act and achieving regulatory clarity between the SEC and CFTC. The organization did not mention the proposed Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, which did not receive enough support in procedural voting and is expected to be shelved until 2027.
