Goldman Sachs Asset Management Expects the Fed Will Not Enter a Sustained Rate Hike Cycle
Goldman Sachs Asset Management stated in a report that it does not expect the Federal Reserve to enter a sustained rate hike cycle. The firm noted that price pressures related to tariffs and energy may weaken, the economy shows almost no signs of overheating, and inflation expectations remain stable. The dot plot from last week's Fed meeting indicated one more rate hike this year. According to LSEG data, the money market pricing shows a cumulative rate hike of 37 basis points is expected over the remaining two Fed meetings this year.
