Grayscale: Bitcoin's Three-Year Return Approximately 225%, Long-Term Investors Should Maintain Exposure
Grayscale noted that Bitcoin's return over the past three years is approximately 225%, but the gains are concentrated on a few trading days. Removing the best 5 days reduces the return to 95%; removing 10 days drops it to 27%; and removing 15 days results in an 11% loss. In contrast, the Nasdaq index returned 109% during the same period, with lower concentration. Grayscale believes that for highly volatile assets like Bitcoin, not investing itself constitutes an opportunity cost; since the best trading days are difficult to predict, long-term investors should avoid timing the market and maintain continuous exposure.
