Reserve Bank of Australia Launches Consultation on Tokenized Market Settlement Services
The Reserve Bank of Australia has initiated a consultation to explore the role of its information and transfer systems in the settlement of tokenized ecosystems. This consultation aims to gather opinions from various stakeholders on how related services can support the development of Australia's tokenized asset market and private currencies, while maintaining financial security, operational efficiency, and financial stability. The deadline for submissions is October 30. The report indicates that Australia's retail payment system provides good services for households and businesses, and there is currently no sufficient public interest rationale for introducing a retail central bank digital currency.

Nasdaq Hits Another High| WEEX TradFi Daily Brief (October 6, 2026)
Major equity indexes closed higher on October 5 ET, and the Nasdaq set another record high. Tech drew inflows after weak labor data cooled rate-hike expectations, but the 10-year and 30-year yields rose intraday to about 5.34% and 5.70%. The services prices index rose to 74.0, a four-year high, so the rate overhang has not cleared. EWZ and PBR jumped on election and resource-discovery narratives, while SpaceX hit a stage high. Bitcoin traded near $86,000. On October 6 ET, markets will watch Amazon’s fall Prime event and early sales signals for consumer-sector pricing.
