Solana Foundation Appoints Former Binance CMO and Polygon Executive for Institutional Strategy

The Solana Foundation has appointed Rachel Conlan, former global CMO of Binance, as chief strategy officer, and Jamal Raees, a former executive at Polygon Labs, as general manager of payments. These hires aim to accelerate institutional adoption and payment activity on the Solana network. Conlan, who spent three years at Binance and held senior roles at OKX, CAA Sports, and Havas, will oversee institutional partnerships, ecosystem growth, and go-to-market strategy. Raees will focus on payments, including stablecoins and tokenized deposits, essential for making Solana a financial settlement network. The Foundation reports significant growth, with Solana processing over 5000 billion dollars in stablecoin volume in 2026, real-world assets exceeding 4.5 billion dollars, and tokenized equity supply surpassing 620 million dollars. Solana is shifting its focus from consumer crypto applications to institutional finance, competing with Ethereum and newer payment-focused chains. The Foundation's new hires indicate a strategy to build partnerships and compliance integration necessary for institutional engagement.
