Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stated that Iran no longer trusts negotiations with the United States, citing that the U.S. has repeatedly launched attacks and imposed sanctions after each negotiation. Currently, Qatar and Pakistan are mediating the relationship between Iran and the U.S., relaying Tehran's messages to Washington. Raisi pointed out that negotiations should be based on the memorandum of understanding previously signed by the two countries and demanded that the U.S. clarify its position regarding that memorandum. He also blamed the closure of the Strait of Hormuz on the U.S., claiming that it is the U.S. that has blocked Iran's path, and stated that closing the Strait of Hormuz is a natural response. He emphasized that the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz can be resolved through negotiations rather than force, and if negotiations are successful, the waterway will remain open for trade.
