XRPL Surpasses Ethereum in Tokenized Commodity Market
XRP Ledger has surpassed Ethereum in the growth of the market value of tokenized commodities. From the beginning of 2026 to October, there was a net capital inflow of $2.2 billion into tokenized commodities on XRPL, while Ethereum attracted $1.6 billion. Other major first-layer networks lagged behind, with Avalanche at $334.5 million and BNB Chain at $57.5 million. The technical structure of the XRPL network has played a significant role in its preference; while Ethereum has variable transaction fees and complex smart contracts, XRPL provides direct support at the protocol level. The energy sector has contributed to XRPL's lead; tokenized electricity generation contracts JMWH issued by Justoken, based in Latin America, constituted a large portion of the liquidity. As of October 5, 2026, the monthly RWA transfer volume on XRPL increased more than 224 times, reaching $7.03 billion, and the value of represented assets rose by 56% over the last 30 days to $4.52 billion. The market value of stablecoins on XRPL reached $1.25 billion, with a monthly stablecoin transaction volume measured at $5.01 billion. Investment funds Franklin Templeton and Ondo Finance joined the XRPL ecosystem with assets of $48.3 million and $187.5 million, respectively.
