California Governor Signs Executive Order Requiring State Agencies to Continue Using AI Terminology
On October 1, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed Executive Order N-10-26, requiring state agencies to continue using the terms "Artificial Intelligence" and "AI," unaffected by the federal government's potential shift to "super intelligence." Previously, on September 27, Gavin Newsom signed several bills prohibiting California public officials from issuing meme coins, banning trading platforms from listing meme coins that use the likeness of public officials, combating cryptocurrency fraud and money laundering, establishing a victim compensation mechanism, and clarifying the asset forfeiture procedures for transnational criminal networks involving cryptocurrencies. In a statement, Newsom criticized the personal meme coin TRUMP issued by Trump in 2025, stating that nearly 1 million buyers have collectively lost over $3 billion, while Trump himself profited approximately $636 million.
