El Salvador registers 633 million USD in real estate tokenization since 2023
Real estate tokenization in El Salvador has accumulated 633 million USD in issuances since 2023, with 55 projects registered as of September 4, 2026, according to the National Digital Assets Commission (CNAD). In 2025, 16 real estate issuances were approved for a total of approximately 452 million USD. Construction activity grew by 10.7% year-on-year in June, while real estate activities increased by 7.1% year-on-year, driven by new projects and greater financing. Tokenization is presented as an additional avenue for raising funds, utilizing both debt and income tokens, all regulated by the Digital Assets Issuance Law. The CNAD oversees the issuances, and the projects span various regions of the country, not limited to a single real estate hub. This phenomenon is framed within a broader context in Latin America, where the IDB has identified tokenization as an innovative financial market that requires new regulatory frameworks.
