South Korea finalizes stablecoin law consultations

South Korea’s Financial Services Commission Chairman Lee Eog-weon announced that the Framework Act on Digital Assets, which includes stablecoin legislation, is in final-stage consultations. This statement was made during a parliamentary audit on Oct. 8, following comments from Democratic Party lawmaker Lee Kang-il regarding the urgency of stablecoin legislation. Lee emphasized the need for swift action to finalize consultations and establish a clear direction for the digital asset industry. He noted that the policy on stablecoin types and licensing will be adaptable based on market conditions, aiming to align with global trends while ensuring a safe regulatory framework.
