Democrats to Investigate Trump Family's Crypto Business if Elected
Several U.S. congressional staffers, lawmakers, and attorneys have stated that if the Democrats win control of the House or Senate in the midterm elections in November, business dealings facilitated by the Trump family will become some of the first subjects of investigation, focusing on crypto companies associated with the Trump family and Donald Trump Jr.'s venture capital firm, 1789 Capital. Once the Democrats gain control of either chamber, they will obtain subpoena power and funding to expand their investigative staff, with investigations potentially starting as early as February next year. Democratic Congressman Jamie Raskin and Senator Richard Blumenthal have indicated that there is currently no definitive list of investigations. Companies related to the Trump family are hiring lawyers to conduct internal audits and are engaging crisis public relations firms. A White House spokesperson responded that the Democrats are targeting Trump's agenda without any basis.
