US Government AI Chatbot America.gov Fails to Report on Cryptocurrency Legislation Progress

By: news.bitcoin.com|09/30/2026 19:50:21

The US government AI chatbot America.gov was launched on September 29 as a unified digital entry point for the federal government, capable of retrieving information and updates from approximately 29,000 government websites. Gemini, a subsidiary of Google, serves as its technology partner, while Grok is involved in platform development. America.gov provides tax forms, fraud reporting, and security tips on issues such as Bitcoin reserves, cryptocurrency asset regulation, and tax declarations, but it has not covered some recent legislative developments and displayed guidance on digital assets that the US Securities and Exchange Commission has already withdrawn. The platform often includes disclaimers in its responses, indicating services it cannot provide. The FAQ suggests that the AI may make errors, and users should verify the sources accompanying each response before making important decisions.
